From Soil to Society: Celebrating the Essential Connections Between All Living Things

  HEROES

There are many individuals who have inspired us through their words and deeds, their essential insights and contributions to the growth of knowledge, their artistic creations and their hopefulness. But mostly, each one has inspired by his or her example - at once modest and extraordinarily ambitious. Their particular genius is expressed in their chosen fields such as music, science, philosophy, law, government and politics, poetry, ecology, architecture, art, education, to name a few. But their greatness lies in the transcedent quality of their work and the universality of their most essential insights. These are individuals who, each in their unique fashion, call us to become our higher selves and teach us to celebrate the essential connections between all living things. These are some of our heroes. Over time, we look forward to adding new names; for this is not intended to be a closed list but rather a living tree and ongoing source of inspiration. We welcome your comments on the names we have included and your suggestions for new additions to the list.
